Ultrasound-guided injections have become an essential part of modern musculoskeletal (MSK) practice. For doctors, physiotherapists, and advanced practitioners who already have a foundation in basic ultrasound skills, the next step is to expand into more complex procedures. That is where our advanced ultrasound injection course comes in. In collaboration with SonoSkills, I now teach the Advanced MSK Ultrasound-Guided Injection Techniques Course, explicitly designed for clinicians who are confident with basic injections and wish to expand their expertise through advanced injection training.

Who Is the Advanced Ultrasound Injection Course For?

This course is designed for clinicians who already use ultrasound for basic joint and tendon injections and wish to advance their practice further. It is suitable for:

  • Sports and exercise medicine doctors

  • Rheumatologists, pain consultants and orthopaedic doctors with ultrasound experience

  • Physiotherapists with injection therapy qualifications

  • Advanced practice clinicians with established ultrasound skills

If you have mastered the basics and are ready to advance your practice, this course is designed for you.

My Expertise in Ultrasound-Guided Injections

I have over 17 years of experience in ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions. Ultrasound guidance enables direct visualisation of the structure to be injected. As a result, injections performed under ultrasound guidance are more accurate, effective, and safer than those performed using landmark-based techniques.

My expertise in this field has led me to become a leading contributor to the advancement of ultrasound-guided injections. I have published extensively on tendinopathy and interventional sports medicine, spoken at international conferences, and regularly contribute to lectures and educational programmes. I also partner with SonoSkills to deliver both in-person training courses and an online education programme for sports doctors and allied professionals.

In my private practice at SportDoctorLondon, I perform a wide range of ultrasound-guided injections, including:

I also specialise in advanced ultrasound-guided procedures, such as:

This combination of clinical expertise, teaching, and research forms the foundation of the advanced injection training I deliver through SonoSkills.

Why Choose Advanced Injection Training?

For clinicians already offering ultrasound-guided injections, this course helps you:

  • Broaden your intervention portfolio

  • Offer new treatments for complex or chronic MSK conditions, such as the buttocks, hip and groin.

  • Increase confidence with deep and challenging anatomical targets

  • Stay up to date with the latest interventional MSK techniques, such as tendon scraping and nerve hydrodissection

  • Provide more comprehensive care for your patients without having to refer to other practitioners for these advanced procedures

By the end of the course, you will have the knowledge and skills to integrate advanced techniques into your clinical practice.

Feedback from the First Course

The first course held in Amsterdam, Netherlands, received excellent feedback. Participants highlighted the practical, hands-on approach and the content’s relevance to daily clinical practice. Following that feedback, the course has been further refined, with new content on hip and pelvic nerve blocks added for the next edition.
