My Expertise in Ultrasound-Guided Injections

I have over 17 years of experience in ultrasound and ultrasound-guided interventions. Ultrasound guidance enables direct visualisation of the structure to be injected. As a result, injections performed under ultrasound guidance are more accurate, effective, and safer than those performed using landmark-based techniques.

My expertise in this field has led me to become a leading contributor to the advancement of ultrasound-guided injections. I have published extensively on tendinopathy and interventional sports medicine, spoken at international conferences, and regularly contribute to lectures and educational programmes. I also partner with SonoSkills to deliver both in-person training courses and an online education programme for sports doctors and allied professionals.

In my private practice at SportDoctorLondon, I perform a wide range of ultrasound-guided injections, including:

• Percutaneous trigger finger release – a minimally invasive alternative to open surgery, with good evidence suggesting this procedure is as successful as surgery. 

• Nerve hydrodissection – an emerging treatment for carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel and other nerve entrapments of the hip and groin 

• Tendon scraping techniques – for chronic tendinopathy resistant to standard approaches

• Hamstring origin tendon injections – targeted management of high hamstring tendonitis

• Advanced shoulder injection– including shoulder barbotage for calcification, hydrodistension for adhesive capsulitis, and suprascapular nerve block for shoulder pain

• Buttock and pelvic injections – including pubic symphysis joint injection, iliopsoas tendon injection and sciatic nerve hydrodissection

• Advanced ankle injections – such as posterior ankle joint injection for posterior impingement and subtalar joint injection
